At the end of September 2023, the 2nd International Piano Competition "Die jungen musikalischen Löwen" had taken place at the Grieg-Begegnungsstätte. More than 30 participants had come to Leipzig to demonstrate their skills. As many as 20 main and special prizes were awarded to the promising talents.
On 26 April 2024, together with the Lions Club Leipzig Saxonia, we invited audiences to the prizewinners' concert. Four of the prizewinners had the chance to distinguish themselves once more and performed in part new pieces. Werner Kopfmüller, president of the Lions Club, and Helmut Loos, president of the Grieg-Begegnungsstätte, emphasised the great success of the project, which is set to be continued in 2025.
The positive retrospective was reinforced by the audience, which consisted mostly of association members of the two cooperation partners. Praise was given in particular to the family atmosphere of the opening and closing events as well as to the care given to the participants on site.
